Dan Damico

Dan Damico, 32, begins his 11th season with the Cardinals in 2020, serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to full-time in 2012 after two seasons as a graduate assistant.

Damico earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Baldwin Wallace, where he was a two-year letterman and starting wide receiver as a senior before graduating in 2009. He remained with the Yellow Jackets that next fall, serving as the wide receivers coach for one season before coming to Westerville.

At Otterbein, Damico coached wide receivers (2010) and quarterbacks (2011-13) before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2014. The Cardinals took off under his direction, averaging 30 points per game in 2016 and then 35 per contest during the 2017 season.

Damico was instrumental in helping standout Logan Stepp switch from wide receiver and become a 2x first team All-OAC quarterback, where he eventually set Otterbein single-game (477) and single-season (3,250) records for total offense and graduated third all-time in both touchdowns (64) and total offense (6,601).

Damico also coached 3x All-OAC wideout Julian Lowe, who set a new Otterbein career record in receiving touchdowns (30), along with 2x all-league receiver Hunter Joseph. The duo was invited to play in the National Bowl, and participate in Pro Days at Ohio State, Cincinnati and Akron before Lowe eventually signed with the Arena Football League.

Damico completed his master's degree education at Otterbein in 2012. He and his wife, Kylie, currently live in Westerville with their son Max (4) and daughter, Amelia (2).
