Mike Bazzoli 2021

Mike Bazzoli

Mike Bazzoli returned to Otterbein in 2021 for his second stint with the program, after spending two years as a graduate assistant from 2015-17. He helped during the recent pandemic-shortened season and now officially rejoins the staff for another full slate.

Bazzoli oversees the tight ends while also assisting with strength and conditioning duties.

He impacted multiple areas of the Otterbein offense during his first stint, working on the same unit as accomplished pass catchers Julian Lowe, Hunter Joseph and Payton Vanderkooi along with standout quarterback Logan Stepp (2x OAC Offensive Back of the Year). The Cardinals averaged 30 points per game during the 2016 campaign and Lowe went on to become the program’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions.

Bazzoli ventured into the personal training field after his first stretch at Otterbein, while also coaching football at nearby Westerville South High School. He then spent time as a sports performance specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and strength and conditioning coach for RYZE Athletics before launching his own company… training out of Westerville.

Bazzoli, holding a CSCS and RSCC from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is a level one coach through United States Weightlifting. He also has a performance enhancement specialist certification through NASM with a Human Movement and Biomechanics certificate through DBC Fitness.

A native of New Philadelphia, Bazzoli earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Ohio University and then a master’s in allied health and wellness from Otterbein.
