Mike Pechac

Mike Pechac begins his first season as part-time assistant football coach, working with the defensive line.

A 1998 graduate of Mount Union College, Pechac earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education while becoming a three-year letterman for the Purple Raider football team. He was a member of the 1993 and 1996 national championship teams and earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a senior.

Pechac comes to Otterbein with 13 years of coaching experience, including three at the collegiate level. He has coached at both Malone University and Hiram College, and served as tight ends coach at Columbus Brookhaven H.S. in 2004 when the Bearcats defeated Avon Lake to capture the Division II state championship title.

He spent the 2005-06 season as the defensive quality control coach at The Ohio State University, working with the linebackers under current Buckeye head coach Luke Fickell. The team won the Big Ten title and defeated Notre Dame in the 06’ Fiesta Bowl.

Pechac, who works for Columbus City schools, lives in Columbus with his wife Sharmaine and three sons, Trevon, 16, Kameron, 14, and Kristian, 11.
