Travis Schomaeker

Travis Schomaeker enters his fourth season at Otterbein, originally being hired as the men's basketball graduate assistant before earning a promotion to full-time assistant in April of 2016.

Schomaeker, an Ottawa native, came to Otterbein after attending Defiance College from 2011-2015, where he was a four-year letterman for the Yellow Jackets men's basketball squad. As a three-year starter, Schomaeker helped lead Defiance to back-to-back Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) titles, as well as the HCAC Tournament Championship in 2015.

In 2015, Schomaeker helped the Yellow Jackets defeat defending national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, marking Defiance's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.

As a senior, Schomaeker was a first team All-HCAC selection, second-team d3hoops.com all-region honoree, Academic All-HCAC, and Capital One Academic All-American. He also was named a Josten's Trophy Finalist as a senior.

In addition to athletics, Schomaeker graduated from Defiance with a bachelor's degree in integrated mathematics.
