Brett Holt

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Brett Holt begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Otterbein volleyball program in 2019.

Holt spent the past two years at Mintonette Sports in Powell serving as a club coach and private-lesson instructor. He coached a successful traveling team that qualified for the USAV Girl’s Junior Nationals in both 2018 and 2019, which included five top-three finishes in the 17-and-under division.

Prior to Mintonette, Holt spent five years as Director of Operations/Head Coach for the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at Missouri Valley College.  He was hired in August of 2012 and soon began putting together a decorated run, ultimately compiling a 216-95 overall record (149-67 with the women across six seasons, and 67-28 with the men spanning three seasons).

Holt guided three NAIA All-Americans, five AVCA All-Region selections, 42 all-conference performers and a handful of special award winners. His 2017 squad made the school’s first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, delivered its first 30-win season and a fifth-straight 20-win campaign. Holt’s student-athletes also performed well in the classroom with 46 NAIA Scholar Athletes and six-consecutive AVCA Team Scholar Awards.

Holt has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s from the University of Central Missouri. He now lives in downtown Columbus and works full time as assistant manager at GO: Fitness in Italian Village.
