Josie 2021

Josie Andres

Josie Andres begins her second season as lead/graduate assistant coach for the Otterbein volleyball program in 2021.

During her first year, Andres played a key role in helping guide the Cardinals to an Ohio Athletic Conference championship despite the challenging pandemic schedule. She stepped into an interim head coaching role during various stretches (as head coach Monica Wright was on maternity leave) and the Cards ultimately finished the campaign with an 18-3 record.

A 2019 graduate of fellow OAC school Ohio Northern, Andres was a two-year letterwinner for the Polar Bears and served as team captain her senior year. She was part of two OAC regular season co-championship teams, a pair of NCAA qualifying teams, and a 2x Academic All-OAC selection for her work in the classroom.

Prior to her time in Ada, Andres spent the initial two years of her college volleyball career at Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. She was a two-year letterwinner for the Lions in 2015 and 2016.

A native of Sunman, Ind., Andres also holds freshmen and junior varsity coaching experience at her alma mater of East Central High School. There, she led the freshmen club to a conference tournament championship and both teams to a combined 27-14 overall record.

Andres, who majored in sport management at ONU with a minor in communications and business, will now be pursuing her MBA at Otterbein.
