TIFFIN, OHIO – Otterbein moved to 13-1 Saturday afternoon and 5-0 in conference play with a 2-0 victory over Heidelberg in Tiffin.
For the second straight game, the Cards were able to score in the opening ten minutes, as sophomore Adrienne Novak found the back of the net at the 9:09 mark. She has now totaled eight points in the last four contests.
Otterbein out-shot the Student Princes 9-1 in the opening half and went to halftime ahead 1-0.
The second half saw more of the same, as the team held an 11-0 shot advantage and took seven corner kicks compared to none for Heidelberg.
Senior Becky Bowser extended OC’s lead to 2-0 in the 86th minute off an assist from senior Carly Dent.
Lauren Sweeney and Molly Schreiber combined for six saves in net for Heidelberg while Otterbein keeper Tara Carter did not have any. She faced just one shot on the day.
The Cards return home to host John Carroll on Wednesday, with game time scheduled for 4 p.m. The Blue Streaks played OC to a tie last year in University Heights.
