WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Otterbein men’s soccer team fell 1-0 to Ohio Northern Saturday afternoon at Clements Field.
The contest appeared to be heading for a scoreless first half, but Northern’s Cameron Johnson took a corner kick from Christian Huelsman with less than five minutes remaining before halftime and headed it into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
ONU held a 9-7 shot advantage at the break.
The second half did not see many opportunities for either team, as the Cards held a slim 2-1 edge in shots. Unfortunately, neither was able to find its way past Polar Bear keeper Mac Church.
Ohio Northern held an overall shot advantage of 10-9 while Otterbrein took eight corner kicks compared to the Polar Bear’s seven.
Otterbein keeper Dave Dziedzicki tallied four saves in between the posts while Church stopped five for ONU.
The team next hosts Muskingum on Wednesday. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
