Five Cardinals Score in Double Digits in Win Over Muskingum

WESTERVILLE, OHIO—Otterbein (6-15, 4-10) beat Muskingum (6-15, 1-13) 75-61 in a league match-up Sunday in the Rike Center.

A three-pointer by junior guard Nathan Edick put the Cardinals up 29-14 with 6:27 left in the first half as they jumped on the Fighting Muskies early.  However, Muskingum rallied to bring the deficit to within seven at halftime, trailing 38-31.

Edick matched his career-high of seven three-pointers, while scoring a career- and game-high 23 points.

In the second half the Cardinals again jumped ahead big, going up 53-35 with 14:51 left, marking the biggest lead of the game.

The Fighting Muskies clawed back once more to make it 57-50 with 9:42 left, but Otterbein managed to hold off the rally and keep the lead in double digits during the last seven minutes.

Sophomore center Chris Davis recorded a double-double, scoring ten points and grabbing ten rebounds.

Five players scored in double digits, including senior guard Brian Pollock, with 15 points, junior forward Ian Gardner, 12 points, and sophomore guard Brice Rausch, 10 points.

Muskingum was led by sophomore forward Josh Brindley, who had 12 points.

Otterbein is next scheduled to host first-place John Carroll in a league game Wednesday at the Rike Center.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
