DELAWARE, OHIO - The Otterbein men's soccer team (1-5) dropped a 3-1 decision at 21st-ranked Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday evening.

The Bishops struck early, getting on the board just two minutes in when Tyler Bryant struck a ball from the right side that bounced off the hands of Otterbein goalie Alex Kamphaus and into the bakc of the net.

Otterbein responded minutes later as Byron Horton, who led the team with seven goals in 2008 but failed to record a goal last season, scored on a header off a restart to even the game at 1-1. Richard Rice was credited with an assist on the play.

Wesleyan answered in the 12th minute when Bryant got a rebound and fed a pass to Travis Wall for a goal and the 2-1 advantage.

Tyler Wall then extended the Bishop lead to 3-1 in the 41st minute by converting a shot in front of the net off a redirect.

The game would head to halftime with OWU leading 3-1, and the second half would see no scoring as Wesleyan earned the 3-1 victory.

Ohio Wesleyan held a 23-14 advantage in shots and took seven corners compared to just three for Otterbein.

The Cardinals will take part in the Kenyon Tournament this coming weekend, opening against Allegheny (PA) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
