GAMBIER, OHIO - Otterbein (1-7) suffered a 2-0 loss to nationally-ranked Kenyon on day two of the Kenyon Tournament Sunday afternoon.
The team hung tough in the opening half, and went into the break locked in a scoreless tie despite being out-shot 17-6 over the first 45 minutes.
Kohei Hotta would get an easy put away in the 71st minute to put the Lords ahead 1-0, and Edgar Arceo widened the Kenyon margin to 2-0 in the final minutes by scoring on a breakaway.
Kenyon held a 28-6 shot advantage while also taking eight corners compared to just two for the Cardinals.
Junior goalkeeper Alex Kamphaus set a new career-high by stopping 11 shots in net for Otterbein.
The team returns to action this coming Saturday, traveling to take on Urbana. First kick is slated for 4 p.m.
