OBERLIN, OHIO - Otterbein men's soccer team (0-2) dropped a 1-0 decision to host Oberlin Saturday evening on day one of the Oberlin Tournament.
The Cardinals held a 10-5 shot advantage in the opening half, but unfortunately none were able to find the back of the net as the game headed to halftime locked in a scoreless tie.
Oberlin's Justin Griffiths broke the tie in the 75th minute, converting on a set piece from the near side to the middle of the field for a 1-0 lead.
The Cardinals were unable to muster a score the remainder of the way en route to the 1-0 loss.
Otterbein held a 14-11 shot advantage, and both teams took two corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper Alex Kamphaus notched two saves for the Tan and Cardinal while Zach Lipshultz stopped five shots for Oberlin.
The team reumes action Sunday afternoon against Hiram, with starting time scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
