ROCHESTER, NEW YORK - Senior forward Lindsey Rudibaugh registered the games first two scores, and tenth-ranked Otterbein closed out its stay at the Nazareth Tournament with a convincing 4-0 victory over host Nazareth Sunday afternoon. The team defeated Colby Sawyer 2-0 on day one.
The first half featured just six total shots, but Rudibaugh made the Cardinals second one count, finding the back of the net in the 27th minute to give Otterbein a 1-0 advantage.
Rudibaugh, the OAC's active career scoring leader, extended the Cardinal lead just two minutes into the second half with her 26th career goal.
Freshman Abby Misch was able to notch her first career goal off an assist from Rudibaugh in the 65th minute, and senior Jenny Knox tallied her first goal of the season in the 74th minute off an assist from Cristen Herold.
Otterbein out-shot Nazareth 13-1 in the second half to hold a 17-3 overall edge in shots, and also held a 17-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Cards took 48 shots over the two day tournament compared to just four by the opposition.
The team returns home to host its own tournament next weekend with St. Mary's (IN), Ohio Northern, and Kalamazoo (MI).
Otterbein opens Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. against St. Mary's, followed by a match with Kalamazoo Saturday at noon.
