WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced its volleyball and soccer coaches preseason polls Monday morning.
Otterbein women's soccer was tabbed second out of 10 teams, being edged out only by Ohio Northern, which will begin the season ranked 12th-nationally. Head coach Brandon Koons, entering his 14th-season, will be looking to guide Otterbein to its fourth OAC championship in the last five seasons.
The Cardinal volleyball team, led by sixth-year head coach Monica McDonald, was picked to finish third behind Heidelberg and Mount Union. Otterbein also sits atop the "Others Receiving Votes" section in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason national poll.
Otterbein men's soccer, under 24th-year head coach Gerry D'Arcy, was slotted eighth. An array of newcomers are expected to contribute right away as the team looks to get back into the OAC Tournament picture.
