Men's Soccer Drops a Pair in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Otterbein University men’s soccer team dropped a pair of contests over the weekend at the Colorado College Classic.

The Cardinals, now 3-4 on the season, suffered a 2-0 loss to Fredonia State on Saturday before being dealt a 2-0 loss to the host Tigers Sunday afternoon.

Patrick Schuber put Fredonia State ahead midway through the first half on day one, and the Blue Devils added their second score in the 72nd minute en route to the win.

Fredonia held a slim 15-13 shot advantage for the match, while Otterbein finished with a 7-5 edge on corner kicks.

Matt Fechter recorded both goals for Colorado College on day two, finding the back of the net in 29th and 85th minutes.

The Tigers held a 30-6 advantage on shots and took nine corners, compared to just one for Otterbein.

Junior goalkeeper matched a season-high with nine saves in the match, with Colorado keeper Brian Graf finishing with two.

The Cardinals next travel to Cincinnati Christian University Wednesday evening, with match time slated for 7 p.m.
