CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Otterbein University volleyball team rebounded from a short two-game skid Saturday with a pair of victories at the College of Mount St. Joseph tri-match.
The Cardinals, now 20-6 on the season, opened the day with a four-set victory over Anderson University (Ind.) by scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.
Senior Annie Juenger led the way with a team-high 12 kills, while both Emily Caldwell and Gracie Staten came up with 17 digs on the defensive side. Setter Tabatha Piper flirted with a triple-double, handing out a match-best 43 assists to go along with eight kills and eight digs.
The team concluded its stay with a come-from-behind win over the host Lions, winning 18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-14, 16-14.
Piper distributed 44 assists against MSJ, helping Juenger tie for a match-high 14 kills while Kasey White and Kendel Kellogg had nine and eigh, respectively.
Staten had her best outing of the season in the back, finishing with a career-high 21 digs, two service aces, and just one reception error on 38 chances.
Otterbein will return to Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening with a 7 p.m. match against Wilmington College in the Rike Center.
