WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The 17th-ranked Otterbein University volleyball team picked up its sixth-straight win Tuesday evening with a straight-set triumph over visiting Marietta College.
The Cardinals, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-13, move to 24-6 this season and 6-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) with the win. Marietta drops to 12-16 and 2-6 against the league with the result.
Senior Annie Juenger paced the Cardinals offensively by hitting .438, blasting a match-high 17 kills and just three misfires on 32 attempts. Otterbein hit .404 as a team while limiting the Pioneer attack to a .129 output.
Junior outside Kendel Kellogg finished with a .364 percentage after going for six kills, and two errors, on 11 attempts, while classmate Tabatha Piper handed out 36 assists to go over 1,000 for the third-straight season. She will enter Saturday's regular-season finale needing just 15 to break the school's all-time record.
Keri Horton led the visitors with seven kills while libero Amber Wiley had a match-high 11 digs to go along with a pair of service aces.
Otterbein will finish the regular-season slate Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. home match against Capital University. Juenger and fellow classmates Liz Palmer, Emily Caldwell, and Kelsey Berrien will be recognized prior to the match as part of Senior Day.
