Box Score
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University volleyball team, coming in No. 14 in the most recent national poll, played to a three-set win over visiting Baldwin Wallace University Friday in the Rike Center.

The Cardinals, winning by scores of 25-16, 25-8, 25-22, improve to 17-4 on the season and 2-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play with the win. The Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, fall to 8-12 overall and 1-1 within the league.

Otterbein opened a 14-9 lead in the first set to force a BW timeout, and stayed in control out of the timeout in taking the early advantage. The Cards were dominant in the second frame, breaking open an early 5-4 lead by winning 20 of 24 points and never looking back.

The Cardinals appeared ready to wrap up the match with a 24-16 edge in the third, but Baldwin Wallace never quit and fought off six-consecutive match points before a kill from Otterbein's Kendel Kellogg ultimately ended the night.

Otterbein senior Annie Juenger enjoyed one of her best outings of the season, blasting 19 kills en route to a .417 hitting percentage. Setter Tabatha Piper turned in 34 assists, eight kills, and five digs while libero Emily Caldwell had a match-best 18 digs in the back.

The Cardinals, having been up and down recently in the serve game, posted eight service aces with only two errors throughout the match.

Otterbein returns to action Tuesday evening, traveling to take on Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio.
