NEW CONCORD, Ohio – No. 14 Otterbein University eased to a third-straight win to open Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play Tuesday with a three-set win at Muskingum University.
The Cardinals, now 18-4 overall and 3-0 in the league, won by scores of 25-7, 25-11, 25-19 to record the team's ninth-straight win. Muskingum falls to 10-9 this season and 1-2 against OAC schools.
Offensively, Otterbein hit .500 in the first frame and .467 in the second before cruising to victory. Senior Annie Juenger led the team with 11 kills and five other players registered at least four.
Setter Tabatha Piper handed out 30 assists, while Juenger and classmate Emily Caldwell combined for 24 digs.
Otterbein has the weekend off before returning to action next Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Ohio Northern University. The Cards defeated ONU by scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 last season in Westerville.
