WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Cardinal women’s lacrosse team fell to Kenyon College 18-7 Wednesday night at Central High School.
The loss drops Otterbein University to 3-3 this season, while the win improves the Ladies to 4-1 overall.
Kenyon scored the game’s first 10 goals before freshman Morgan Hunsaker got the Cardinals on the board with 6:42 left in the first half to make the score 10-1.
Otterbein outscored the Ladies 4-1 over the final seven minutes of the first half to close the gap to seven entering halftime.
Kenyon opened up the second half with four unanswered goals, before Hunsaker scored for the second time to make the score 15-5 with 21:25 remaining in the game.
Kenyon continued to pressure the Ottebein defense and closed out the final 20 minutes of the game by outscoring the Cardinals 3-2 to secure the victory.
Sophomore Victoria Blatt led the Otterbein attack with three goals, while Hunsaker also notched a multi-goal night with two. All seven Cardinal goals were unassisted.
The Cardinals will have a week off from competition before they head to Stubenville Thursday, April 4, to take on Franciscan University. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
