Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Otterbein University women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to nine matches Saturday evening, walking away from Muskingum University with a 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory.
The win, moving the Cardinals to 8-2-4 on the season and 4-0-1 in conference play, keeps the team just a half-game back of league-leader Baldwin Wallace.
Otterbein got on the board shortly before halftime at Muskingum, getting Alyssa Spencer's second goal in as many matches when she found a loose ball in the box and finished.
The Cardinals took the 1-0 margin into the half, and later doubled the advantage in the 68th minute on Jillian Strimbu's ninth goal of the season. The margin would be enough for an Otterbein squad that out-shot the Muskies 18-6 on the night and held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Otterbein will be back in action Tuesday evening, hosting Wilmington College for a 7 p.m. start at Memorial Stadium.
