Women's Lacrosse Tallies One-Sided Victory at Wilmington

Box Score
WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Otterbein University women's lacrosse squad tallied another lop-sided victory Wednesday evening, posting a 20-2 road win at Wilmington College in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

The Cardinals will now head to the University of Mount Union Saturday afternoon looking to secure the OAC's regular-season title and No. 1 seed in the upcoming league tournament. Otterbein currently leads both Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace University by one game for the conference lead.

Otterbein put the game away early at Wilmington (0-13, 0-3 OAC), scoring five times in the opening seven minutes before entering halftime with a 12-1 cushion. The Cards scored four unanswered goals to begin the second half to leave little doubt I the eventual outcome.

Junior Tory Blatt scored six goals on six shots during the game, also adding an assist on the final goal of the night. Classmate Courtney Hilfinger tallied five scores for the second-straight game while Shannon Back, Maddy Blackburn and Maria Blaszczyk each scored twice.

Otterbein finished with a 44-8 shot margin and was a perfect 28 for 28 on clear attempts. The Cardinals defense forced Wilmington into 21 turnovers and, as a result, picked up twice as many ground balls.
