WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Otterbein men's basketball team fell on the road Wednesday evening in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play, dropping a 90-68 decision to host Wilmington College.

The Cardinals were close to begin the game, getting four early buckets from senior Marshall Crum and holding a 21-20 lead with 5:50 to play before the break. Wilmington found its stride, closing the half on a 25-6 run to open an 18-point halftime lead.

The Quakers continued on in the second half, quickly getting their cushion above 20 and keeping the margin in double digits the remainder of the way.

Grant Fenner led the way offensively for Otterbein with a game-high 18 points, shooting 8-of-15 from the floor and pulling down a team-best eight boards. Freshman Aaron Mally registered a season-best 13 while Marshall Crum finished with 10, going a perfect 5 of 5 from the floor.

Otterbein was playing the game without three starters due to injury, suiting up without its top-two scorers in Jake Phillis and Matt Hughes, along with forward Marc McCuen.

Five Wilmington players scored in double figures, led by 17 from Jonathan Bibbs.

Otterbein closes out the week at home in the Rike Center, hosting crosstown-rival Capital University Saturday at 7:30 p.m. as part of a men's and women's doubleheader. The Cards took the first matchup earlier this season in Bexley with a 77-72 triumph.
