TIFFIN, Ohio – The Otterbein University men's basketball team dropped its season finale Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 72-60 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action at Heidelberg University.

Heidelberg (11-14, 7-11 OAC) opened the game strong, scoring the first nine points before assuming a 13-4 lead six minutes in. Otterbein eventually settled in, staying the course and trailing by just a possession, 27-24, after a layup from freshman Michael Howard. The Student Princes later held a 32-27 lead at halftime.

Otterbein (3-22, 2-16 OAC) was down just four after an old-fashioned three-point play from Ben Umpleby a few minutes into the second half, but Heidelberg responded with a 16-4 run over the next six minutes to open a 16-point margin. The Cardinals were never able to recover as the Student Princes ultimately tallied the season sweep.

Ben Umpleby and Aaron Mally led the Cardinals offensively, finishing with totals of 11 and 10 points, respectively. Senior Marshall Crum, playing in his last collegiate game, had eight points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Kiere Bennie had a game-high 22 points on the Heidelberg side, going 9-of-12 from the floor and making all four three-point attempts.

Otterbein won the rebounding battle, 39-25, and shot a better percentage from the field, but committed twice as many turnovers and made just 2 of 12 from long range.
