Box Score OBERLIN, Ohio – The Otterbein University women's lacrosse team fell short during non-conference action Wednesday night, suffering a tough 16-1 loss on the road at Oberlin College.
Oberlin jumped out in front from the get-go, scoring three times in first 90 seconds to assume an early advantage. The Yeowomen scored five more times before the Cardinals finally got on the board, getting a man-up goal from Annie Kelly with 36 seconds to go in the period. Katy Williams was credited with an assist on the play.
Oberlin regained control for good to begin the second half, scoring all eight of the goals after intermission en route to the win.
Grace Barlow led all scorers with three goals and two assists for Oberlin, which out-shot Otterbein 46-6 throughout the matchup. The hosts won 17 of 19 draw controls.
Cardinal freshman Ariel Petroval finished with a season-high 14 saves in between the pipes, including 10 in the first half.
Otterbein will end the week Saturday afternoon on its home turf, hosting Kenyon College at noon inside Memorial Stadium.
