Kenyon (4-0) took control from the start, winning nearly every draw control and building a 9-1 lead midway through the opening period. The Ladies pushed the advantage to double digits near the end of the first half, but three-straight goals from Otterbein leading-scorer Tory Blatt helped trim the deficit to 12-5 by intermission.
Both sides traded goals during the initial 15 minutes of the second half, with Kenyon maintaining a comfortable lead of 16-7 after a goal from Kat Englert at the 14:46 mark.
Rebecca Carter found Katy Williams for an Otterbein goal just over a minute later, but the climb back would be too much as Kenyon ultimately prevailed with the win.
Blatt and junior Annie Kelly each had three points for the Cardinal offense, while Williams and Ali Kula each posted one goal and one assist. Blatt also brought in a game-best six draw controls.
Englert was the best player on the field throughout for Kenyon, scoring six times and setting up another two goals for her highest-scoring game of the year. She also registered three groundballs and caused a pair of turnovers.
Jane Symmes, the reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, had four goals and a game-high eight groundballs for the visitors, while Caroline Shipman netted five scores of her own.
Ariel Petroval finished with seven saves in goal for Otterbein and counterpart Meredith Bentsen came up with eight for the visitors. Kenyon also managed to double up the Cardinals in free-position shots.
Otterbein will now hit the road to play four-consecutive away contests, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. matchup at Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday.
