WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest against Mount Union on Saturday night in its season finale on senior night at Memorial Stadium.
The Cardinals came into the night in a must-win situation in order for them to clinch the sixth and final spot in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament.
The initial half of play resulted in a scoreless tie with Otterbein leading the shot margin, 4-1. Neither team surrendered a good look on goal, with Raider goalkeeper Dylan Lias recording the only two saves of the frame.
Nearly 30 minutes passed in the second half before the Cards were issued a foul and yellow card in their own box, awarding Mount Union's Jesse Tinney with a penalty kick. Tinney promptly sent the penalty kick inside the near post to the back of the net for the game's first goal.
