BEREA, Ohio – The Otterbein women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in the fifth minute of overtime at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday afternoon in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) matchup at George Finney Stadium.

Otterbein (10-4-1 overall) is now 3-4 in league play and is set to host its final two home regular-season games of the year next week, beginning with Marietta visiting Memorial Stadium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The first half of action featured no goals despite an array of shots on goal for the Cardinals as they unloaded five of them as part of their seven total. Baldwin Wallace conversely checked in with just two shots at the break, neither of which came on goal.

Six different players for the Cardinals tallied a shot in the initial frame, while BW goalkeeper Emma Bruno stopped five shots in a pressure-packed half in goal.

The second half was much of the same on the scoring front as the two squads equaled one another in shots at seven apiece, while both combined for eight corner kicks to add to the attempts near goal.

Neither team managed to find the back of the net though, as Otterbein took a 14-9 advantage in the shot margin into overtime. Cardinal goalkeeper Erin Gordon entered the extra period with two saves.

Exactly at the five-minute mark of overtime is when Baldwin Wallace's Anna Poptic sent in the game-winning score, her third goal of the year, finishing off an assist from Marissa Fabrizi. The goal was just one of three shots on goal for BW the entire afternoon.

Bruno picked up the win in goal for the Yellow Jackets, saving seven shots in the process, while Gordon lost just her second game of the season between the posts for the Cards.
