ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's soccer team completed the Ohio Athletic Conference's (OAC) first undefeated regular season since 2014 after posting a 1-0 win at Mount Union in its regular-season finale Saturday night.

The Cardinals, now 15-2 overall, finish the regular-season schedule at 9-0 in league play matching John Carroll's undefeated regular-season title run from four years ago.

Otterbein, the top-seed in next week's OAC Tournament, also set a new program record for consecutive wins, now at 13-straight, breaking the 2002 team's previous record of 12 victories in-a-row.

The program now has now accounted for seven regular-season championships in the league, securing its first since 2003 with a win over Baldwin Wallace last week. The Cards officially clinched the conference crown outright this past Wednesday night with their 3-0 shutout of Marietta on the road.

Otterbein earned a bye through the quarterfinal round after clinching the top-seed and will host the lowest-remaining seed next Thursday in an OAC Tournament semifinal match at Memorial Stadium. Opponent and game time will be announced on the schedule page after the opening round Tuesday night.

On the field at Mount Union the two teams played to a scoreless first half in which a combined total of 10 shots were unloaded, Otterbein holding the majority with six of them.

Cardinal goalkeeper Collin Hoffmann was stellar once again holding down the final line of defense, stopping a trio of shots by the Purple Raiders in the initial frame.

Seven minutes into the second period the Cardinals inked the scoreboard for the game's first goal, as junior Erick Juarez-Manning found the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 advantage.

The score proved to be the only one needed to help the Cards secure their ninth shutout of the year and second-straight such decision, as the Otterbein defense limited Mount Union to just six shots on goal for the entirety of the game.

Hoffmann finished the game in goal for his 15th win, adding three saves to his halftime mark for a total of six on the night. Raider goalkeeper Zach Hlas stopped four shots in the loss on the other end of the field.
