WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The fourth-seeded Otterbein women's soccer team defeated fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament quarterfinals on Monday night inside Memorial Stadium.

The Cardinals (13-4-1 overall) advance to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2013 and will travel to top-seeded Ohio Northern on Wednesday afternoon for a 4 p.m. matchup in Ada, Ohio.

Otterbein last played Baldwin Wallace two weeks ago and suffered a 1-0 loss in overtime on the road, before finishing the regular season with two-straight wins to secure home-field advantage in the opening round of the conference tournament.

The Cardinals dominated possession of the ball in the initial half and it showed in the shot category as they held a 15-2 advantage resulting in two goals from two of its first-year members of the program.

Freshman Myiah Kelley opened the scoring for the Cards with her fifth score of the year shortly into the 39th minute, firing a shot to the upper left side of the goal off an assist from sophomore Katie Exline.

It was less than a minute before fellow freshman Priscilla Severance put the Cards up 2-0 on a ball which she tossed ahead of the Yellow Jacket defense following the initial play by Exline, before evading goalkeeper Emma Bruno for the score.

Otterbein controlled the momentum the entire second half as well, holding Baldwin Wallace to just a pair of shots in the period, while Severance upped the advantage to 3-0 with less than three minutes remaining.

The pair of goals scored by Severance gave her the team lead with nine goals on the season as she now has posted three goals in the last two matches, along with her second two-goal outing of the fall.

Cardinal goalkeeper Erin Gordon earned the win in goal with one save for her third shutout of the year, while Bruno suffered the loss for BW despite stopping seven shots on the night.

Otterbein ended the game with a sublime 25-4 advantage in shots, including 10 on goal to BW's mark of just one. Tonight also marked the 14th time this season in which the Cards held their opponent to one goal or fewer.
