ADA, Ohio – The Otterbein men's basketball team dropped a tough road game in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play Wednesday night, falling by a score of 98-55 at Ohio Northern University.
The Polar Bears, who recently had a 10-game winning streak snapped over the weekend, got back into the win column and improve to 16-8 on the year, 14-3 against the rest of the league. ONU currently sits tied for second with John Carroll amongst the OAC standings.
Otterbein, meanwhile, drops to 7-17 overall this season and 3-14 within the conference. The Cards finish out the season Saturday afternoon, hosting Mount Union at 2 p.m. as part of Senior Day for
Bryan Mackenzie,
Grant Fenner and
Spencer Kendall.
Both teams got off to a fast start offensively, with Otterbein holding an 18-14 lead by the 14:15 mark of the first half. Ohio Northern kicked into gear with a difference-making run, outscoring the Cards 31-5 to eventually open a 45-23 advantage as halftime approached.
Ohio Northern took a 16-point advantage into the break, and then quickly blew the contest open in the second half by pushing the gap to 32 points just six minutes in.

Cameron Arminio led the Cardinals with 13 points while freshman
Austin Springer also reached double digits, scoring 10. Mackenzie nearly secured a double-double performance with 11 rebounds and nine points.
Five Polar Bears scored in double figures, led by 22 from Aron Three and another 20 from Konnor Baker. ONU shot 55 percent from the field compared to a 27-percent clip for Otterbein. The hosts also finished with a 50-31 rebounding edge.
