WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Cardinal women's lacrosse team saw its three-game winning streak snapped with a 15-4 loss to cross-town rival Capital on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
Otterbein (4-5 overall) moves to 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Capital improves on its solid start to the season at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Cardinals now turn their attention to Muskingum as they host the Muskies this coming Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
Capital got off to a fast start scoring a pair of goals just over three minutes into the first half en route to a 10-0 advantage at the break. The Crusaders got goals in the initial frame from five different players, while holding a 15-9 edge in shots.
Otterbein did not find the back of the net in the first half but did manage to notch seven of its nine shots on goal, forcing 17 turnovers on its opposition.

The Crusaders responded with four unanswered goals in a span of 10 minutes to boost their lead to 14-1 with 16:13 remaining, before the Cards scored three of game's final four goals to conclude the game.
Otterbein's goals over the final 15 minutes came off one from freshman Emma Pusecker and two from senior
Katy Williams, who extended her league-leading mark in goals to 33.
Capital ended the game with a 33-15 lead in shots, firing 24 of them on goal, while Otterbein settled for 13 of its shots on goal. Junior
