Men's Soccer Scores Late to Earn Third Straight Victory Over Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio- Otterbein men's soccer holds on at Baldwin Wallace to earn its second Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season. The Cardinals (8-4, 2-1) scored early in the game, as well as late to hold off the Yellow Jackets (8-7, 1-3) Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Like lightning in a bottle Otterbein found themselves on the scoreboard at 2:25 when Zach Lantzy found the speedy Paul Hensley for the early Cardinal goal.
  • Baldwin Wallace answered soon after at 4:12 when Zach Hoover was able to score unassisted, besting Cardinal goalie Collin Hoffmann.
  • The two teams entered the half tied at one, with Otterbein holding a shot advantage of 12-5.
  • Hoffmann made two first half saves, while giving up a lone goal.
  • BW goalie Patrick Mehal was forced to make four first half saves in net for the host Yellow Jackets.
  • Otterbein was able to find the go-ahead goal in the late stages of the game at 75:28 when Freshman Gabe Sharrock scored an unassisted goal.
  • Otterbein held on for the victory, outshooting BW 21-11 for the game.
  • Hoffmann went the distance in net for the Cards, making five saves.

  • Otterbein has now won three straight games against Baldwin Wallace.
  • Collin Hoffmann has made 41 saves on the season while surrendering just five goals in eight games.
