Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio - Otterbein men's basketball fell to Heidelberg in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, 71-59. The Cards now sit at 3-5 overall and 0-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Student Princes with the win improve to 2-6, and 1-2 in the OAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Heidelberg took a 35-25 lead into the break, the Student Princes shot 57 percent from the field in the first half.
- Otterbein shot just 34 percent, and went 5-16 from three in the first, while Heidelberg went just 1-6.
- The first half was played clean, with Otterbein shooting just one free throw, and Heidelberg converting both of its chances.
- Both teams shot an even 41 percent from the field in the second half, but the 10 point Student Princes lead was too much for the Cardinals to overcome.
- Going cold with over 10 minutes left, the Cards saw the hosts begin to pull away, eventually winning 71-59.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Heidelberg enjoyed a balance scoring afternoon with five players in double figures.
- Otterbein managed just two players in double digits, but saw Dallas Patrick lead all scorers with a game-high 23. He shot 10 of 19 from the field while grabbing eight rebounds.
- Heidelberg converted on nearly 50 percent of its chances from the field while the Cards converted at just 38 percent.
- Otterbein led 25-24 with 3:01 in the first half before Heidelberg went on a 10-0 run to close the half. Heidelberg ultimately led for 26 minutes of game time.
