Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Otterbein women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference road game Saturday morning, finishing on the low end of a 17-7 contest at host Transylvania University.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams netted an early goal in a low-scoring start, but the Pioneers took control midway through the opening half with a 6-0 run.

- Otterbein trimmed that deficit with a pair of scores just before intermission, receiving goals off the sticks of Abby Smoot and Cameron Finnegan to trail 7-3 entering the break.

- The two teams traded goals throughout the early part of the second period, with the Cards only trailing 11-6 with 18:50 showing on the clock.

- Transylvania (3-1) put the game away from there, rattling off a 5-0 run and never looking back.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Finnegan (2G, 2A) paced the Cardinal offense while Smoot added two scores of her own. She has tallied multiple goals in all three outings this year.

- Transylvania won 16 of 23 draw controls and also converted 6 of 9 free-position attempts. The Cardinals were just 1 of 6 in the free-position department.

- Otterbein's Allison Rhoads made nine saves and now has 22 over the past two outings. Pioneer goalie Mackenzie Dent stopped four on the opposite end.

Otterbein (0-3) will look for its first win of the season down in Florida, traveling to play games against U.S. Merchant Marine and SUNY Oneonta over spring break.
