BEREA, Ohio – The Otterbein women's lacrosse season came to a close Saturday afternoon on the road, as a 14-8 loss to host Baldwin Wallace eliminated the Cardinals from postseason contention.
Otterbein, finishing at 7-10 overall and an even 4-4 within the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), will unfortunately miss the league's four-team postseason event by one game.
The contest also marked the final college outing for departing seniors

Kenna Walquist,
Angela Park and
Noa Crowley, who were recently recognized on Wednesday night for the contributions to the program. Smoot and Walquist started all 64 games across the four years.
Baldwin Wallace (9-6, 6-2 OAC) secured the third seed in the OAC Tournament after topping Otterbein for a second-straight year inside George Finnie Stadium. The Yellow Jackets led 5-2 after a low-scoring first half, with the Cards getting goals from Smoot and sophomore
Julia Karas to remain close.
Otterbein opened the second half strong, getting a goal from Crowley just 68 seconds in and hanging within striking distance to the middle part of the period. The Cards trailed just 8-6 after another goal by Smoot with 16:29 remaining, but BW countered with a 4-0 run down the stretch to create separation.
Smoot registered four goals in her final outing as a Cardinal, finishing her strong career with 140 since arriving as a freshman. Karas added a hat trick, Crowley snagged four draw controls and
Kiera Mulcahy scooped five ground balls.
Megan Patrick scored four times to lead the Yellow Jackets, who posted a 33-20 shot advantage and went 5 of 13 on free-position attempts. The Cards were 3 of 4 on the open chances.
