WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 25-ranked Otterbein volleyball team made quick work of dispatching Marietta Wednesday night inside the Rike Center, bouncing the Pioneers in straight sets to keep their winning streak moving.

The Cardinals, back in the AVCA national poll this week after falling out earlier this season, beat Marietta by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 and have now won their 13th match in a row. Otterbein has not lost to the Pioneers since the fall of 2009.

The first two sets were rather lopsided, as Otterbein opened a 10-2 lead in the first and later stood on top 16-5. Then, an 8-0 run midway through the second frame turned a close set into a 20-8 cushion.

Otterbein was in control to begin the third, working in a variety of players around the floor and leading 21-12 down the stretch. Marietta admirably kept battling and never went quietly, winning six-straight points and forcing a few Cardinal starters to enter.

The Cards eventually regrouped to win the last three points and keep their "sweep streak" alive, having not lost a set in one full month.

Amber Greeley, who recently got engaged (congrats), was a smooth 9-0-10 through two sets before getting the third off. Julia Vermilion was also a clean 6-0-13 while Emma Linehan and Morgan "The Hammer" Hartman both tallied six kills as well.

Bridget Oder had 14 digs on the back line as Marietta was held to just a .085 hitting percentage. Maggie Fellers and Laura Radalia both notched seven kills to pace the visitors.

Otterbein, now 14-2 overall, will head to Lexington, Ky. this coming weekend for a pair of matches at Transylvania. The Cards will play Transy along with Rose-Hulman.
