WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein women's basketball found its way back into the win column Friday night cruising to victory over the visiting Muskingum Fighting Muskies, 78-56. The win pushes the Cards back up to 4-3 on the year, while the Muskies fall to 1-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cards jumped out to an early lead with solid play on both ends, taking a 22-12 advantage into the quarter break. The second quarter, much like the first, saw Otterbein take a commanding 17-point lead into the break, 42-25.
- Junior guard Jenna Hoschouer paced the Cards in the first half, scoring eight points while grabbing seven boards for a near first half double-double.
- Otterbein ran away with the game in third quarter, scoring 20 for the third time while limiting Muskingum to just 13 points.
- The Cardinal defense was strong all night, never allowing the Muskies to score more than 18 points in a quarter.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Freshman standout Katie McCrary scored a game-high 19 points, setting her new season high, on 8-of-15 shooting.
- The Otterbein offense has seen five players score in double figures three times now on the season.
- Tamia Kendrick added 12, Natalie Galaida scored 11, while both Angelia Jackson (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Hoschouer (10-points, 10 rebounds) compiled double-doubles.
- The Cardinals dominated the glass grabbing 60 total rebounds, with 20 of them on the offensive end.
- Otterbein, previously allowing some big offensive-rebounding games to opponents, limited the Muskies to just 11 this time out.

Otterbein will hit the road and travel to New Concord tomorrow for game two of the weekend slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
