WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein women's basketball found its way back into the win column Friday night cruising to victory over the visiting Muskingum Fighting Muskies, 78-56. The win pushes the Cards back up to 4-3 on the year, while the Muskies fall to 1-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Cards jumped out to an early lead with solid play on both ends, taking a 22-12 advantage into the quarter break. The second quarter, much like the first, saw Otterbein take a commanding 17-point lead into the break, 42-25.

  • Junior guard Jenna Hoschouer paced the Cards in the first half, scoring eight points while grabbing seven boards for a near first half double-double.

  • Otterbein ran away with the game in third quarter, scoring 20 for the third time while limiting Muskingum to just 13 points.

  • The Cardinal defense was strong all night, never allowing the Muskies to score more than 18 points in a quarter.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Freshman standout Katie McCrary scored a game-high 19 points, setting her new season high, on 8-of-15 shooting.

  • The Otterbein offense has seen five players score in double figures three times now on the season.

  • Tamia Kendrick added 12, Natalie Galaida scored 11, while both Angelia Jackson (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Hoschouer (10-points, 10 rebounds) compiled double-doubles.

  • The Cardinals dominated the glass grabbing 60 total rebounds, with 20 of them on the offensive end.

  • Otterbein, previously allowing some big offensive-rebounding games to opponents, limited the Muskies to just 11 this time out.
