WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Softball dropped a pair of games Friday afternoon to the visiting Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets, BW ran away with game after a strong first inning and won game two with a seventh inning grand slam.
The Cardinals are now 8-10 overall and 5-7 within Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action. With the sweep Baldwin Wallace improves to 9-7 overall and 7-7 in OAC play.
GAME ONE:
- Baldwin Wallace jumped out to an early lead with an Ashley Matousek three-run home run in the top of the first.

- The Yellow Jackets added on in the third inning with a bases loaded walk to pull ahead 4-0.

- Otterbein scored its only run of the game in the sixth with an RBI single by Maria Herron that plated Katrina Wierzbicki.

- Brook Crosby endured the loss after a complete game effort that saw her strike out six batters.

GAME TWO:
- The Cardinals carried a 6-2 lead into the top of the seventh after playing long ball throughout the game.

- Otterbein runs came from a Herron solo home run in the first, a Megan Payne two-run home run to centerfield in the second, a Hannah Dobrinick opposite field solo shot in the third and another two-run Payne home run in the same inning.

- Baldwin Wallace rallied in the seventh with an RBI single... and with the bases loaded Bridie Bricker sent a ball over the wall in left center to pull the Yellow Jackets ahead, 7-6.

- A bottom of the seventh Cardinal rally came up short with Payne left stranded on first base.
