Softball Swept by Baldwin Wallace in Saturday Action

BEREA, Ohio – After falling twice to Baldwin Wallace Friday afternoon in Westerville, Otterbein softball hit the road for more doubleheader action with the Yellow Jackets.

Baldwin Wallace stayed hot and cruised to a win in game one, 6-0, before sweating out a 2-1 victory in the fourth game of the series.

GAME ONE:
  • Bridie Bricker, the hero for BW yesterday in game two, continued to cause problems for the Cardinals as she drove in five runs in the first five innings.

  • Nikki Camarati was dealing in the circle for BW, allowing just one hit in six innings of work while striking out 12 of the 20 batters she faced.

  • Brook Crosby pitched five innings for the Cardinals allowing six runs on nine hits before Isabelle Fisher came on in relief.
GAME TWO:
  • The Cardinals struck first in the fourth inning, breaking up a pitcher's duel, with a Hannah Dobrinick home run to right center. Her second of the weekend.

  • BW answered with an RBI double in their chance to bat in the fourth inning, and went on to plate the game winning run in the sixth with an RBI single.

  • Jess Gunter went 5.2 innings, striking out three batters, allowing two runs on two hits before Fisher replaced her to record the final out for the Cards.

LOOKING AHEAD:

The Cardinals will return to action next Saturday when they hit the road and head to Wilmington for traditional 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. start times. Otterbein took three of four games from the Quakers opening weekend in "non-conference" action.
