TIFFIN, Ohio – With rain looming in the forecast for Saturday, Otterbein and Heidelberg Softball decided upon a Friday afternoon contest. The Student Princes emerged victorious in the rescheduled outing by a final score of 3-1.
Otterbein now sits with an 11-18 record overall and 8-17 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play while Heidelberg improves to 11-16 overall and 10-15 in OAC action.
THE GAME:
Both sides sat in a deadlock 0-0 tie through the first three innings of action. In the fourth, Otterbein plated their only run of the afternoon on a
Taylor Baran RBI single through the left side that brought
Hannah Dobrinick around.
Brook Crosby worked out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth, but the Student Princes tacked on three runs in the fifth to walk away with the game.
THE STATS:
- Hannah Dobrinick went 3 for 3 at the dish, also earning a walk and scoring the lone run.
- Otterbein recorded seven hits while Heidelberg put the ball in play 10 times, both sides each made one error.
- Both starting pitchers went 4.2 innings, Brook Crosby struck out one batter and gave up eight hits... she is now 6-6 in her freshman campaign.

Both sides will enjoy Saturday off before the Student Princes travel to Westerville on Sunday. The Cardinals will honor seven seniors before the doubleheader, game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
