WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Men's Lacrosse collected its tenth win of the season Saturday afternoon during Senior Day, handling the Mount Union Purple Raiders, 14-4. The Cardinals improve to 10-2 overall with the victory, and are now 7-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Otterbein jumped out to another early lead after the first quarter thanks to a pair of goals from Xander Seal while Cole Werbirch opened the games scoring at 11:59. Otterbein spent most of the first half man-up as Mount Union could not stay out of the penalty box. The Cardinals would end up 2 for 9 on extra-man opportunities but the game saw 17 total penalties.

The Cardinal defense, that has now held its opponents to under 10 scores in its last six outings, kept Mount off the board until the 6:52 mark of the second quarter. At that point the Cardinals held a 5-1 lead before a quick two goal spurt from the Raiders. Otterbein would take an 8-3 lead into the locker room after a mini three-goal Cardinal run aided by more Mount Union penalties.

Both sides scored once in a physical third quarter before the Cards ran away with the win in the fourth thanks to a 5-0 frame behind more stellar defensive play.

The Cards were propelled in a big way by face off specialist Eddie McDonald who went 8 of 13 at the X. Davis Tanaka also got the job done going 4 of 7 when matched up with the OAC's leading face-off man in Chris Motter, who was held to just an 8 of 20 performance.

Otterbein was led by Seal once again on the offensive side of things, this time tallying five points on three goals and two assists. Nick Asuan, who also posted a hat-trick, Werbrich and Aidan Moore all recorded three points. Werbrich scored twice while Moore gave out two assists.

The Cardinals are currently riding a six-game win streak after todays final. Mount Union goalie Kyle Reihner saw 56 shots during the game, saving 25 of them, while Zach Groene earned another victory with 10 stops of his own.

Otterbein will wrap up regular-season play next Saturday in University Heights for a contest with John Carroll at 1 p.m..
