UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Men's Lacrosse wrapped up its 2021 regular season Saturday afternoon at John Carroll, falling by a final score of 14-2.
The Blue Streaks will likely be the second-seed in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament after the win.
The Cardinals will be the tournaments third-seed and will host a quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Official seeding and more details will be posted by the league office in the coming days.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- JCU kept the Cardinals off the board in the first quarter while they score four times.

- Otterbein scored its first goal of the afternoon in the second quarter when Nawny Bailey broke the seal at the 12:45 mark.

- The Blue Streaks added a pair of goals in the second for a 6-1 lead at the break.

- The third quarter was similar to the first with JCU tallying five more goals while keeping the Cardinal offense off the board.

- Xander Seal added the Cards second tally of the day in the fourth, but JCU once again won the quarter, and the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Blue Streaks doubled up the Cardinals with 44 shots compare to just 22.

- Each side was perfect on clears, but the Cards committed 16 turnovers, half of which were caused.

- Otterbein failed to convert on four man-up opportunities while the man-down unit held the Streaks to just 1 of 3.

- Zach Groene made 13 saves in net while Eddie McDonald went 9 of 20 at the face-off X.
