Box Score ADA, Ohio – Otterbein men's soccer suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Ohio Northern Thursday night with both Polar Bear goals coming just 30 seconds apart in the first half.
The loss drops the Cardinals to 3-4-1 overall and on the outside looking in of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament. ONU improves to 4-3-1 with the win and now find themselves in fifth place in the standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- ONU wasted no time to start the game, jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Jeffrey Firestone scored his first goal of the season for the Polar Bears.
- Just under 30 seconds later ONU struck again when Levi King found an opening for a score.
- Despite outshooting the Polar Bears 16 to 6 the Cardinals failed to score with five shots on frame.
THE STATS:
- Otterbein held a slight 4 to 3 advantage on corner kick opportunities, but the Polar Bear back line stood tall on the attempts.
- ONU goalie John Lombardo turned away all five Cardinal shots on net in 90 minutes of action.
- Andrew McIlvoy made two saves in 90 minutes of play.

The Cardinals will likely need a win on Sunday when they host Capital to earn a spot in next weeks OAC Tournament. Sunday's senior day match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
