Silver Bells: Abraham Delivers Hat-Trick in 3-0 Win

Box Score PHOTO GALLERY

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Men's Soccer collected its third win of the season Saturday night as it opened up play at home for the first time this season. It was a one-person show, though, with Silver Abraham recording his first career hat-trick.

Silver first got on the board in the 14th minute when a saved shot bounced around the box and found its way to his right foot. After one quick move to the left to avoid the keeper, who was diving from the ground, he buried it low left for the first tally of the contest.

Later, in a very similar circumstance, Abraham was again able to corral a bouncing ball for his second score in the 31st minute. After the physical Cardinal defense made its presence felt, Otterbein took a 2-0 lead into the break.

The second half opened up with more physicality from both sides, but the imposing Cardinal defense continued to deny the Spartans of Case Western any clean looks on goal.

In the 84th minute, Abraham found himself streaking behind the Spartan defense after breaking down his defender. Like he had done twice already, he buried it in the lower right corner for the first hat-trick of his career.

Abraham's scoring outburst marks the first hat trick for the program since 2017, when both Nate Norris (Heidelberg) and Juan Rivas (Earlham) accomplished the feat.

Otterbein will return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Oberlin. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
