FINAL RESULTS
ADA, Ohio – The Otterbein women's track and field team grabbed a second-place effort as a team following Saturday's action in the Joe Banks Invitational, hosted annually by Ohio Northern.
The Cardinals registered 150 points in the field of six teams, settling behind ONU and ahead of Rochester, Earlham, Defiance and Mount St. Joseph.
In the field, sophomore
Emma Klosterman won a pair of events by just missing a PR in the high jump (1.61m) and then leaping 9.86 meters in the triple. She won the latter by a full meter.
Freshman
Ravyn Goodson had two season-best chucks, tossing 10.22m in the shot put and then 11.66 in the weight throw. That was good enough for top six in both events, with fields of 16 total competitors.
Newcomer
Madi Brokaw cleared a season-best 2.80 in the pole vault, while
Amanda Radke did the same in the long jump at 4.69 meters.
Multiple victories were charted
on the track.
Gracie Dennison,
Lydia Baumgartner,
Coree Gifford and Klosterman won the 4x2 relay in 1:48, sneaking onto the Otterbein top-10 list. Dennison won the 60 hurdles for a third-straight week while Gifford won the 500 meters at 1:22, eight seconds ahead of
Addison Lilly and the rest of the field.
Brooke Caldwell (1:04) and
Brooke Hamilton (1:06) crossed 1-2 in the 400 meters while the trio of
Cassidy Shaver,
Alyssa Mattis and
Ragen Harting went 1-2-3 in the 1K.
Otterbein will be back in action next weekend, heading north to participate in the Jud Logan Light Giver Open at Ashland.
