WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein Women's Basketball collected its third-straight win on Wednesday night after holding off a furious late rally by the Fightin' Quakers, 69-64.

The Cardinals improve to 17-6 overall and 11-5 in league play with one regular-season game left on the schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The upset-minded Quakers found a groove early through nice pace, opening a 19-11 lead after one quarter.

  • Otterbein fought through some tough stretches to remain close, ultimately going into halftime down just 30-26. Wilmington held a 20-10 edge in paint scoring prior to intermission.

  • The Cardinals opened up the second half with a 7-0 run, they led the remainder of the game.

  • Wilmington didn't go quietly, though, as they pulled within four with just over three minutes to play.

  • The lead was quickly built back up with an Angelia Jackson triple-hit at the 2:40 mark. The Quakers then began playing the foul game to extend the game.

  • Bryn Mangold corralled a massive offense rebound with just 27 seconds to play, the rebound eventually led to two made free throws by Kathleen DeCarlo.

  • The visitors had a clean look to tie the game with two seconds left, but the triple from straight hit the front iron. Otterbein escapes with the win after going 10 of 14 at the charity stripe in the final minute.

 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Cardinals complete the season-sweep of the Quakers with the win, they have now won nine of the last ten meetings.

  • Four Cardinals eclipsed double-figures; DeCarlo led the way with a team-high 14 while Hoschouer chipped in 12, Jackson and Haley Dennis both added 10.

  • Otterbein outscored the Quakers 25-8 on the fast break.
