Gracie Dennison enjoyed a memorable (and final) Last Chance Meet Thursday at Mount Union, as she broke a pair of school records while gearing up for the NCAA Championships next week.
Dennison ran a lightning 12.15 seconds in prelims of the 100-meter dash, breaking a seven-year old record (12.19) previously set by former All-American Shyla Cummings back in 2015.
The veteran, and returning national qualifier in the hurdles, then reset her own program best in the 100's with a clean 12.35. Her PR entering the day was 14.42 seconds.
Mike Rennette was looking to qualify for nationals in the 400 hurdles, approaching the meet with a 53.73 (roughly 28th in the nation). He unfortunately couldn't quite get there after covering the lap in 53.96, but will still compete next weekend in the 110's.Â
Senior Gage Beireis, entering the day around 30th nationally in the steeplechase, also couldn't improve his ranking.
Dennison and a handful of teammates will be heading up to SPIRE Institute next week for the NCAA's. Full preview on them coming in the near future!
