FINAL RESULTS

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Otterbein wrestling team got its newest campaign started Wednesday night just up north at Ohio Wesleyan, as the two schools competed in 25 total matches to continue getting loose for a long stretch.

The Cardinals managed to prevail in 15 of those 25 bouts, as multiple individuals saw mat time to give their coaches/fans an early-season look.

Freshman Jason Patterson was a double-winner on the night at 165 pounds, notching both victories via pin. He cemented his first at 2:20 in the opening period and then the latter very early in the second.

Other Cardinals who tallied falls included Eric Saddler, Austin Amens, Gabe Thacker, Michael Eckelberry and Zach Orseno.

Andrew Sas, Zac Stray and Josh Taylor all posted major decisions in their triumphs. Nathan Leko, Owen Crabtree, Austin Winn, Carter Mottley and Trace Williams emerged by decision.

Otterbein will head out this weekend to compete in the annual Lycoming Invitational, scheduled for Sunday over in Williamsport, Pa. The event will be a round-robin format with three guaranteed matches for each wrestler.
