WESTERVILLE, Ohio – A huge scoring outburst in the first quarter propelled Otterbein into a runaway victory in conference play Wednesday night, as the Cardinals chalked up a 19-2 decision over Wilmington back inside Memorial Stadium.
The Cardinals, playing their first home game in nearly a month, get back to even in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 1-1 mark. Wilmington falls to 3-6 overall and 0-2 against the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Otterbein netted two goals in the opening 54 seconds and seven total across the initial five minutes of the night.

- The Cardinals stood on top 10-0 by the end of the first quarter, receiving goals from six different players.

- Alex Menendez and Zach Schonhiutt got into the scoring barrage early in the second and Otterbein ultimately carried a 13-1 edge into halftime. Wilmington forced a turnover in the closing minute of the period to quickly convert a goal and hit the board.

- A pair of assisted goals helped the Cardinals methodically build their across the third quarter, and four more ensued in the culminating frame as multiple players and lines were worked in.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Aidan Moore tied a program record for most points in a single game with 11, coming on career-highs of seven goals and four assists. He matches Xander Seal's 2021 performance against Wilmington.

- Otterbein held a 27-12 edge in shots on goal and was nearly perfect on clear attempt, going 18 for 19 in the transition.

- The Cardinal man-down unit killed all four penalties they were faced with.

- Nathan Lewis, Max Graham and Sam Swisher all had multi-goal nights while Alex Menendez contributed three points.
